At Big Heart Ranch, every animal has a story — a story of rescue, resilience, and the healing power of connection. When you symbolically adopt one of our animal groups, you become part of their rescue story.
Your sponsorship directly supports the daily care that keeps our herd healthy and thriving: nourishing feed, veterinary support, safe shelter, enrichment, and the nature-based wellness programs that help children, families, and veterans heal alongside them.
Each adoption includes a beautiful digital certificate and the animal’s story, allowing you to share in the love and purpose your sponsorship makes possible. Your support helps us provide a safe, loving sanctuary all year long.
How Sponsorship Works
1. Connect With an Animal Group
Every group of animals at Big Heart Ranch brings a different kind of healing — grounding goats, playful donkeys, calming horses, joyful pigs. Choose the ones that resonate with you.
2. Choose How You Want to Support Them
One-time sponsorships help with immediate needs like feed and daily care.
Monthly or annual sponsorships create a lasting impact by providing ongoing, year-round support for the animals’ wellbeing.
3. Complete the Sponsorship Form
Use the secure Neon form to finalize your sponsorship. You can select the option to give animal sponsorship as a gift or you can sponsor the animal yourself.
4. Receive Your Certificate + Healing Description
You’ll receive a digital certificate and a written description of how that animal group supports emotional wellbeing, connection, and healing at Big Heart Ranch.
Mini Horses
Mini horses carry the same emotional depth as full-sized horses, wrapped in a smaller, more approachable form. Their sweet, yet sassy, personalities make connections with them feel natural and safe. Their sensitivity calls for peace, respect, and gentle awareness. They’re natural bridges between strength and softness — inviting trust, curiosity, and joy. Mini horses remind us that gentleness can be just as powerful as greatness, and that healing often begins one small, meaningful step at a time.
Alpacas
Alpacas are natural protectors — steady, alert, and confident. They lead with quiet strength, setting clear boundaries and commanding respect without aggression. Their grounded, watchful presence teaches self-respect, emotional balance, and the power of calm, cautious leadership. For those healing from trauma or rebuilding confidence, alpacas model how strength, readiness, and grace can coexist, showing us what it means to stand tall with purpose.
Goats
Goats are curious, confident explorers who meet the world head-on and bounce back from every stumble. Their playful persistence and fearless spirit inspire courage and resilience, reminding us that healing isn’t always quiet — sometimes it’s lively, messy, silly, and full of joy. With their bold curiosity and unstoppable energy, goats encourage us to face life with openness and a sense of adventure.
Mini Donkeys
There’s a quiet magic in our mini donkeys. They’ve carried their own hardships with grace, yet somehow offer comfort for ours. Stand with them for even a moment, and the world feels a little softer — worries ease, shoulders drop, and the simple things come back into focus. Their gentle eyes remind us of what truly matters: presence, kindness, and peaceful connection.
Pigs
Pigs are far more intelligent than they appear. Often underestimated, pigs are social, emotionally perceptive, and deeply aware. They bond closely with one another and with humans, responding to consistency, kindness, and genuine care. Their curiosity, playfulness, and loyalty create lasting connections and remind us that healing happens through compassion, respect, and steady attention, not perfection. With their silly charm and big hearts, pigs teach the power of being fully seen and accepted exactly as we are at all times.
Ducks
Ducks are playful, social, and always have something to say. Their lively chatter and curious nature invite laughter, connection, and joy, while their smooth glide across the water reminds us to move with ease and rhythm. Ducks teach us that healing can be lighthearted — found in friendship, flexibility, and the simple balance between liveliness and peace.
Sheep
Our rescue sheep thrive in connection, awareness, and community. Their instinct to stay close and follow calm leadership models safety, cooperation, teamwork, and trust. They respond to gentle touch and steady care, helping reduce stress, soothe fear, and calm anxious minds. Simply being near them — feeling the softness of their wool, observing their flocking behavior, or sharing a quiet moment — can restore emotional balance, build patience, and renew faith in ourselves and others.
Onyx and Luna
There is something deeply healing about our mare Onyx and her filly, Luna. Their bond is a living reminder of safety, trust, and the quiet power of growing together. The baby’s playful curiosity and the mother’s steady calm create a space where people can breathe a little easier and remember that life is full of little miracles. Stand near them, and worries soften, hearts open, and the possibility of new beginnings feels beautifully within reach.
Horses
Horses are mirrors — deeply attuned to human emotion, energy, and intention. They sense honesty and authenticity, reflecting back exactly what we bring. Experiences with horses invites self-awareness, emotional balance, and grounded trust. For those healing from trauma, depression, or anxiety, their presence restores inner strength and confidence through connection and mutual respect. Horses remind us to listen deeply — to each other, to the moment, and to our own hearts.
Bunnies
Bunnies embody softness, serenity, and quiet freedom. Their gentle movements and calm presence invite stillness, while their curious faces and playful hops never fail to bring a smile. They remind us that healing doesn’t always require words — sometimes it lives in patience, tender care, and the simple joy of being near something so peaceful and full of life.
Chickens
Our rescue chickens remind us that healing can be found in the rhythm of simple, daily moments. Their gentle clucking and busy foraging create a soothing sense of routine and calm. Chickens are sensitive and social creatures — they recognize faces, form bonds, and thrive on consistency and care. Spending time with them can ease anxiety, lift low moods, and help quiet racing thoughts. For those coping with PTSD, loneliness, or grief, their soft sounds and steady presence bring comfort and grounding. And when they follow you curiously or settle in the sun, it’s a joyful reminder that life is full of little miracles.
Donkeys
There’s something magical about our rescue donkeys. They’ve known hurt yet still help us heal. One look into their gentle eyes, and the world softens — worries fade, hearts lift, and we’re reminded of what matters most: love, kindness, and quiet connection.
